Isola Bella

Early in the morning we start the excursion to Isola Bella. The scheduled boat takes the visitors to the islands.

With a size of 320x180m, its Plazzo Borromeo and its wonderful gardens, it is the most beautiful of the islands. It has been privately owned since the 12th century.

This magnificent palace has been visited by famous guests such as Napoleon and Joséphine Bonaparte or the Princess of Wales Caroline von Braunschweig-Wolfenbüttel.

In the many salons you can enjoy the magnificent view on and over the lake.

In the basement there are many puppets that represent the human images of that time.

There was even a voodoo doctor.

In the shell grotto, which is covered with light ans dark stones and shells, you can find many small and big treasures. Wooden miniature boat stand next to corals.

You may even find some horse stuff dowm here.

And up the stairs the garden awaits. 

In the gardens you feel as if you are in an enchanted building. One of the most eye-catching features of the island is the Heroes' Staircase.
